Astroflex is a polypropylene hurricane screen fabric that is semi-transparent and can be used year-round for shade/breeze control; it’s suitable outside Miami-Dade & Broward or as secondary protection. Astroguard is a resin-coated ballistic nylon hurricane fabric (translucent) with higher impact performance and industry-leading test results.

Our hurricane fabrics are presented as A+ rated products accepted by insurance carriers; Astroguard surpasses IBC, FBC, and Miami-Dade conditions, and Astroflex complies with IBC & FBC and is Category-5 approved for use outside Miami-Dade & Broward.

DIY pricing includes the tools and hardware needed for installation: custom-cut fabric, attachment clips (typically 10–12" on-center on two sides), anchors, and screws.

How do I know if hurricane fabric is approved in my location?

Accepted Answer

Astroguard is Category-5 rated and meets standards for installation worldwide. Astroflex is Category-5 authorized globally except in Miami-Dade & Broward (it can be used there as secondary protection).

Accepted Answer

No. Orders are custom-made to your specifications, including free custom arch and geometric cuts. We accommodate unusual shapes such as bay and atrium windows and custom front doors.
